Flights From Toronto To Montreal

Where do I go?
I live in Toronto and in the summer me and my family wants to go somewhere. Option # 1: direct flights between Toronto and Los Angeles Option # 2: From Toronto to Montreal, New Brunswick and Maine to New Hampshire to Massachusetts to the island on the way to Connecticut New York, then back to Toronto. (any drive) What would be nicer and I have to do things like shopping, for example … or something funny or interesting. If you have another idea please post it, even if it must be in the United States
If you do this during the winter, the # 1 choice. If in summer, option # 2 I had to change the route to Toronto to Montreal, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Soctia then my tank for Maine, etc.
