I have researched on the Internet and within seconds I had located Bruce Bell Tours, and I knew that I meet that person. Bruce Bell, the popular history columnist for the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Community Bulletin, is also a playwright, actor, comedian and the honorary curator of the most photographed building in the city of Toronto to win the historic Gooderham Building better than Flatiron. Bruce announced recently a book on Toronto called “Toronto – A Pictorial Celebration”.

Immediately after I had my conversation with my brother on the phone with Bruce, we presented briefly and said, come with me to the bottom and Thursday for my culinary journey from St. Lawrence Market. Yes, this morning at 10 clock I came into the souvenir shop at the main entrance of the market, and I met Bruce and the other participants in our visit, a young architecture student.

As the official historian of the St. Lawrence Market Bruce has a privileged access to any areas of the building to see the other people before. We immediately took a few steps, took a wrench and leads us into the office of the former mayor, since the construction of the market used the hotel hometown Toronto. The building has undergone several transitions, and the two side wings were removed to make way for a steel-girdered shed built in 1904, which was the model of London Victoria station to make.

In the former mayors office, we had a perfect view of the market and we had a nice view of the skyscrapers of downtown and the famous Flatiron Building in the West, and St. Lawrence Hall, North.
