Wesson cooking oil is a brand of vegetable oil sold by ConAgra Foods. The products currently sold under the Wesson brand are canola oil, corn oil, sunflower oil and a soy-based vegetable oil, as well as mixes of different oils.
Wesson was originally a trademark of the Southern Oil Company, named after David Wesson (18611934), a food chemist at the firm who, in 1899 developed a novel process for deodorizing cottonseed oil, producing the first commercial all-vegetable shortenings from cottonseeds. This new product was marketed as Snowdrift. In the 1920s, the vegetable oil division was spun off as the Wesson Oil & Snowdrift Company. This firm merged with Hunt’s Foods, Inc. to become Hunt-Wesson Foods, which was later absorbed by Beatrice Foods. The brand was sold to ConAgra along with many other former Beatrice brands in 1990.
The longtime spokeswoman for Wesson cooking oil was actress Florence Henderson, Although she sang the jingle, the word “Wessonality” was actually coined by a copywriter named Mark Itkowitz at BBDO New York in 1976. His initial concept was to use the Sam Cooke version of the song “Personality”. It was Jim Jordan, who was BBDO’s Creative Director who suggested using the version by Johnny Mercer as the basis for the campaign. Florence Henderson would appear in television commercials for Wesson from 1976 until 1996.

How do I make my shoes all black permanently?
I’m a basketball referee & I need to have all black shoes. Unfortunately, I have really small feet, so I had to buy predominately black shoes (http://www.shoezoo.com/adidas-megabounce-09-running-shoes-175002_id9428.asp), but now I need to make the silver lining on my shoes permanently black w/out making them look retarded. Nike Air Max Penny look-alike shoes from the 1990’s?
I am looking for a pair of Nike shoes that were made in the 1990’s that resemble the Air Max Penny shoe. They were all plack with a white stripe on the side. Any answers as to what the name of these shoes were or where I could find some? Thanks!

Sperry top siders will definitely go down in history as being the first boat shoes to have been introduced into the boating market, and since 1935 they have never left!
This shoe is not only a tradition, a way of life it is also the most enduring and reliable boat shoe you can find out there on the outdoor shoe market. Sperry Topsiders have been a companion many avid sailors have relied on during all kinds of water conditions be they on the oceans, lakes or other water surfaces.
Most great ideas are born on the spur of the moment, and Sperry Top-siders are no different here. It all happened one rainy day as Paul Sperry let out his Cocker Spaniel for his daily exercise. He was amazed at how his pet managed to be so stable even on the very slippery surface the snow crusted garden formed. From that day the first prototype was invented and the first boat shoe was born.
Since then many other designs have tried to attain the quality level of the Authentic Original Sperry Top-sider, but until now, Sperry’s boat shoes are unique in their category, they have now become a status symbol, which no other shoe can equal, it is no wonder Sperry’s are part of the US Naval Academy’s casual uniform!
Paul Sperry probably would never have imagined his shoes would become such an icon in the years to come, all he was aiming at, being an avid yachtsman himself, was to find a shoe that would help him attain perfect stability on the deck of his schooner while sailing. Having noticed his pet’s stability on the ice, he started examining the forms of his spaniel’s paws using them as model for his first prototype.
What he did in fact was reproduce multi-directional, wavy slits similar to a herringbone pattern by using a razor blade on the rubber sole of a standard shoe. From then on history was made within the shoe industry.
Today, the Sperry Top-sider production is still hard at work to keep up the optimal performance of the shoe for all those who cannot live off water. Sperry shoes are a must have for the sophisticated outdoor man, all those fine men who love outdoors and water, a real status symbol, a companion during all types of adventurous water expeditions.
